IHSA Solo and Ensemble Contest – 3/2

Solo and Ensemble Contest will be held at Reavis High School in Burbank on Saturday, March 2nd. The performance schedule is attached.

*Students should wear dress clothes for performance – no jeans, t-shirts, gym shoes, etc. This is not an event that requires tuxedos and concert dresses.

*Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from this event because of the wide range of performance times. Students should arrive one hour prior to their performance to allow enough time to find the performance rooms and warm up properly.

*On the schedule, the room with the “P” is the performance room and the “W” is the warm-up room. They are typically right next to each other or right across the hall.

*The cafeteria is our “homeroom” where students can leave coats, cases, etc. Valuables are strongly discouraged because there will not be anyone watching our area throughout the day.

*Concessions are sold in the cafeteria throughout the day, run by the Reavis Music Boosters. Please support them! This contest is a HUGE undertaking and they do a terrific job every year!

*Instrumental students need to have their ORIGINAL music with the measures numbered for the judge. Photocopies are not acceptable. Mrs. Kazin will have the originals for the vocal students.

*Please make sure your accompanist has been paid by the 28th. Your accompanist is NOT obligated to play for you at the contest if they have not received payment by this date.

If you have any questions, please contact Mr. or Mrs. Kazin. Good luck to all participants!
