Veteran’s Day Breakfast

The NHS Veteran’s Day Breakfast will be held on Thursday, November 8th in the EPCHS Cafeteria.  Jazz Band and Concert Choir will perform at this event.  See details below:

7:00   Arrive at EPCHS and meet on stage for warmup and rehearsal

7:40   Performance

8:05   Snacks courtesy of Mr. Nesler and NHS

8:20   Dismissed to first block

DRESS:  Red, White and Blue with the following stipulations:

  1.  Dress code appropriate and presentable (no jeans with holes, etc.)
  2. Patriotic and respectful as an older veteran would perceive it
  3. Patriotic, NOT political

If you’re not sure whether something is appropriate or not, it’s probably not.  However, feel free to ask prior to Thursday.

    Home Playoff Game

    The Mustangs defeated the #1 seed last night and have earned home field advantage for the second round!   Time to promote Mustang Pride for playoff football!  The game is on Saturday, November 3rd.

    3:30     Arrive at EP, dress in Class A.

    4:00     Rehearsal in parking lot.

    5:00     Kickoff

    More information will follow this week.  Parents will be needed to help with pit equipment, etc.  Please contact Mrs. Kazin via email if you can help.

      Winter Guard Competition Schedule

      The winter guard competitive schedule for 2019 is as follows:

      January 27th – Naperville North HS

      March 10th – Lincolnway East HS

      March 17th – TF South HS

      March 23rd – Minooka HS

      March 24th – Coal City HS

      Please mark your calendars accordingly.

        Sounds from the Stadium

        Please join us for the annual Sounds from the Stadium Concert on Wednesday, October 24th at 7 p.m. in the large gym.  The concert will feature the Mustang Marching Band performing the competitive halftime show as well as some of your stands favorites.  The concert also includes the George Parks Memorial Marchoff, a special performance by the Central Middle School Band, and our senior sendoff.  Admission is free!

        Performers should be dressed and in the large gym with equipment at 6 p.m. so that we can rehearse with the CMS Band.

          Tickets are now available!

          Mark your calendars for November 1st and 2nd at 7 p.m. when EPCHS Drama presents the hilarious comedy, “The 39 Steps”.  Tickets are only $6 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.  Avoid the line at the door by pre-purchasing tickets through Carol McCormick in the Principal’s Office.  The ticket form is attached below.

            Central Middle School Performance – October 22nd

            7:00 A.M.   Arrive at EP, dress in uniform.  LATECOMERS WILL NOT PERFORM.

            We will walk to CMS and perform two assemblies in the gym.  When finished, we will load the truck and walk back to EPCHS.  After unloading the truck, we will change out of uniform and return to class.  Students will be back by the end of Block 2.

              Sandwich Renegade Regiment Invitational – October 21st


              11:15  Arrive at EP, load instruments, change into uniform, keep uniform bag and shako box for bus

              12:30  Buses depart for Sandwich

              2:00  Arrive, unload

              2:55   Official Warmup

              3:45   EP Performs in Class A Competition

              4:00   LOAD TRUCK FIRST, then change out of uniform, return uniform bag and shako box to truck.  (Guard captains and drum majors keep garment bags/shako boxes because truck will be leaving early.)

              Sit together on the visitor’s side.  You need to be in the stands, in the restroom, or in line for concessions for the remainder of the contest.

              6:15   Awards

              6:45   Leave for EP

              8:15   Arrive at EP.  No unloading the truck because of the Central performance the next morning!

              *BRING LAYERS!!!  IT WILL BE COLD!!!!

              *Eat lunch before you arrive at EP and bring money for dinner.  Spaghetti-O’s are the favorite at Sandwich but there are other options also.

              *Parents:  we know it’s a long ride, but it would be great to have friendly faces in the stands for our last competition!  Please carpool and join us or hop on a bus and help out!  The address for Sandwich High School is 515 Lions Rd, Sandwich, IL 60548.  We typically do not follow the tollway directions that Google Maps provides.  If you’d like our “back roads” directions, send us an email.

              *If you did not yet complete the Stagg Notes assignment, you have to change quickly in order to see ALL of the remaining bands beginning at 4:30.  You will also have to add a self-reflection on our own performance since there are not enough bands left to complete the full assignment.  Please see Mr. or Mrs. Kazin if you have any questions.  If you already completed the Stagg Notes assignment, you can just sit and enjoy the show.

                Guard will not change during the second quarter.  They will wear the Class A Uniform for halftime.

                Seniors from football, cheer and dance will be acknowledged at the game.  We will honor our seniors per tradition at the Sounds from the Stadium Concert on the 24th.  (shoes off, etc.)

                  Our annual Sounds from the Stadium Concert is quickly approaching!  If you would like to send a shout-out to your favorite performer in the Mustang Marching Band, please fill out the form below.  Shout-outs MUST be submitted by October 17th at 3 p.m.
