Football Game 1 – 8/31


5:30    Arrive at EP, get equipment, Class B Uniform Check

5:45    Pregame rehearsal in the parking lot

6:15    Move to stadium

6:30   Pregame

7:00   Kickoff

8:00(approx.)   Halftime

End of game – pack up equipment and enjoy a long weekend!  Take your instrument/equipment home and practice please!

Uniform:  Class B Shirt, Class B Shorts, black no-show socks, Drillmasters or guard shoes (same as EP parade)


-Students will be given water as necessary throughout the game.  Students are expected to play cheers and participate throughout the game.

-Students should eat dinner before they arrive; there is no eating in uniform.

-Students’ cell phones should remain in their pockets for the duration of the game.

-Students who need to use the restroom during the game should notify one of the Kazin’s when they leave and when they return.

-Performance grade is based upon punctuality, preparedness (proper uniform and equipment), and participation throughout the entire game.

Parent volunteers are needed to help move pit equipment and pass out water.  Parent SUPPORT is ALWAYS needed!  Come cheer on our football team, cheerleaders, dance team, and Mustang Marching Band!

    Music Booster Meeting

    The first meeting of the EPCHS Music Boosters will take place on Monday, August 27th at 6:30 p.m. in the Leadership Room.  (Enter from the south parking lot.)  Our Music Boosters are SO crucial to the success of our department!  From fundraising to first aid, pushing equipment to alterations, your time and talents are needed.  Many hands make light work, so please come find out how you can lend a hand!  This is also a great way for new families to stay in the loop and get your questions answered.  See you then!

        ADDED PERFORMANCE – D124 Back to School Bash

        The band and color guard have been asked to perform at the District 124 Back to School Bash at Central Middle School on Friday, August 17th.  New details below.

        Dress:  Class B Uniform (Show shirt, band shorts, black no-show socks, Drillmasters or guard shoes)


        6:00-Meet at Central Middle School with your instrument (Guard, bring a set of poms), warm up

        6:30-6:45 (approx.) – Performance

        Music will consist of selections from the Red Palm concert


          Band Camp Information

          It’s that time of year!  Here are some reminders to help band camp be as productive as possible:

          *Please bring all equipment and music with you.  If you brought home a flag, please bring it to camp.

          *Please wear comfortable clothes and GYM SHOES.  Hats are recommended.  REMEMBER:  the turf will feel about 10 degrees hotter than the air temperature, so light fabrics and light colors are good choices.

          *Bring a water jug and make sure you drink from it.

          *Bring a healthy lunch.  Students will NOT be allowed to leave campus during our short lunch break.  Because our designated lunch time will vary from day to day, please do not plan to have food dropped off either.

          *Please participate in Spirit Days, as determined by your student leadership!

            Parade Help Needed

            Parents are needed to carry the banner and pass out water to the band and color guard along the parade route.  The time commitment would be approximately from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3rd.  Please email one of the Kazin’s if you are able to assist.

              Banquet Slideshows

              Thanks so much to everyone who attended the Music Department Awards Banquet last Wednesday!  We had a great time celebrating all of your accomplishments with you and enjoyed seeing the dance floor full!  The slideshows that were presented during the banquet have been uploaded into Google Classroom for band, choir, and guard as a keepsake from a very successful 2017-2018 school year.
